Wellarae uses essential technologies required to operate the site. Optional analytics or marketing technologies are used only where permitted and, where required, only after consent.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way. They let a site remember things between page loads — for example that you are signed in, or which cookie choices you made.

How Wellarae uses cookies

We group cookies into three categories. Essential cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. Analytics and marketing cookies are optional and off unless you turn them on.

Essential cookies

Used for signing in and keeping your session active, protecting accounts and forms from abuse, completing payments, and remembering necessary site preferences including your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.

Analytics cookies

Optional. They would help us understand how visitors use Wellarae so we can improve the directory. Wellarae does not currently run an analytics service. The category is kept available for the future and stays off until you allow it.

Marketing cookies

Optional. They allow advertising and marketing technologies. Wellarae uses Google Ads to measure when advertising leads to a new therapist account. The Google tag loads with all optional storage denied until you allow marketing cookies, and it never receives your searches or profile views.

Third-party services

Stripe handles subscription payments for therapists. Stripe sets cookies needed for checkout, fraud prevention and security. These are essential — without them payments cannot be completed. Stripe is only loaded when a therapist starts a payment or opens their billing portal.

Supabase provides our database and authentication. It stores your login session on your device so you stay signed in. These are essential.

Hosting and infrastructure providers keep standard technical logs and may set security or load-balancing cookies. These are essential for reliability and security.

No analytics provider is installed on Wellarae at this time. Google Ads is used for advertising measurement only, and only after you allow marketing cookies.

Sensitive browsing activity

Because Wellarae is a therapist directory, we deliberately avoid tracking sensitive activity. Searches for specialties, therapist profile views and similar browsing information are not sent to advertising platforms.

Changing your preferences

You can change your choices at any time using Cookie Settings in the footer of every page, or the button below. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.

How long cookies stay on your device

Session cookies are removed when you close your browser. Your cookie choice is stored on your device for up to 12 months, after which we ask again. Sign-in sessions and payment-related cookies set by Stripe and Supabase generally last from a few hours up to about a year, depending on their purpose.

Updates to this policy

If we add a new technology or change how cookies are used, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent again.
